They have yet to get my contacts page to email to > me, so that is the only problem I am aware of! > Hi, Since your a local business you need to be sure your "meta tags" include you city, state, zip and regional information. Meta tags are the hidden code to help search engines know what keywords and descriptions you prefer to use. Also be sure to have your zip code in your address. Search engines that offer local searches use zip codes on web pages as a keyword. In your description also try to use information about your service area, like "serving Hatbro, Roslyn, Willow Grove and Blue Bell" or whatever your service area is. It would also help you to have the left menu on your main page. Having all your pages linked together helps people navigate thru your site and helps in letting the search engines find all your pages. As you grow I'm sure you'll link directly from your main page to the specific service you offer. Now the main page link for all your services goes to your home.html page. Maybe that can also be incorporated in your left menu. Can you have the BBB banner link to your listing at the BBB. Right now it links to the national BBB site. You might also consider having those 3 banners in the footer of all your pages. I think the most important thing is that your off to a good start. The site flows well, is easy to read and loads quick. Start promoting your site, be sure to include the web address in all your printed materials. This makes the site unusable for non-graphical browsers. 2) you did not include "meta" tags, so many search engines will skip your site. 3) there is no need for an "Enter" button on the home page. That is rather pompous, and you are not GE or GM. The index page and the home page should be merged. 4) you should run the code through a syntax checker to find code errors. I ran the advice page through Dr Watson, and found several errors. In several places, there is a tag for <BR/> where it should be just <BR>. In fact, there are a number of random "/" characters in the code that shouldn't be there. This may confused some browsers, and make load time longer. 5) where are the pictures of your shop, pictures of your vans, photos & bios of the owners, and a map to your shop? 6) did you create those photos or pay a photographer to take them? To be honest, I suspect that whoever did this site simply swiped the images or scanned them off of someone else's artwork. -john- -- ================================================== ==================== John A. Oops. One thing that stood out for me is that this list on the Main page looks like it should be links. Maybe each could be a link to a the exact place on your services page that describes that specific service. | Replace the enter button on your home page with as much text about your business as possible. Make sure all your keywords pop up from time to time in this text too. You will find this will help you in search engines even more than meta tags do.
