I have to give a talk to a group of college students in a software development class on the future of technology and the impact on them. I notice somebody else got some good advice on another post and I wanted to get some feedback.

You can start off the speech about the weight and size of the first computer and compare that today and predict what it will be in the future. Or a similiar example with software.

You may want to start the presentation by reading old quotes i.e. computers will replace humans and say back then ....... but today they have in fact replaced humans doing ...... and in the future .......

Popular Science and some other magazines have some famous quotes about bad predictions it would be great to start off with some and then some how tie them back to the end.

I like the idea of using Popular Mechanics but I would use them on the screen for visuals and I would consider showing some other props old cell phones/PCs etc.
