| Search engine traffic versus link traffic. I've always read (and it makes sense to believe) that search engine traffic is the best kind of traffic because it's very targetted--people are actively looking for what your site contains (usually). But one of my sites in particular gets a lot of traffic from a link that's on another site with a similar theme. Would that traffic be just as good as the search engine traffic? What do you think?

| Re: Traffic Of course, since the sites are similar. The folks are definitely targeted and know what they're looking for. What I've always wanted to know is ... out of all the new visitors the stats show, how many are legit and how many are just robots/spiders/spammers? | SE traffic is really the best kind of traffic available. It is free and targeted. The problem is, most SE's only list your site in the prime positions if you have been linked from other sites. They have gotten their technology to the point that they pay more respect to your site if you are linked from sites in simular industries. |
