Newsletter

We were thinking about starting a newsletter and were wonder if it is better to have it just be text or to develop a html page? I know that an html page would look better but I am wondering if it would have the same results - in terms of getting through the ISPs because they may think that it is spam - any ideas?

Re: Newsletter

If you are using an autoresponder you ought to give the flexibility for the user to decide what they want for a newsletter format. I prefer the html version.

Re: Newsletter

I think the plain text version is better because most people will read an email but they will not sometimes download an email that has pictures on it.

Re: Newsletter

I agree I think plain text people will be more likely to view it and not have to take the extra step of downloading pictures you could always provide a link to an online version of the newsletter

Re: Newsletter

What some people do is post the newsletter in the various online ezine sites and as a teaser but have the full article on your site that will get people to click through to you.

Re: Newsletter

Text is really the only way to go still because of the images and people worrying if it is harmful to their computer. Our newsletter at Business Owners Online is done in all text because we want to make sure that gets to them as easy as possible and as many people are able to open it as possible.
