How to effectively track your tele marketing campaign results.

No , I am not talking about free tracking software available on the internet , but I am talking about how to track your telephone-order results for the advertisements you show in -
  1. NewsPapers
  2. Television
  3. Radio
  4. Direct Sales Letters
  5. Classifieds
  6. TeleMarketing
Or anywhere you ask your customers to dial a number to order.
Well here's the method which I have used again and again , and works to a great extent.
In the end of your advertisement in the contact details , whichever media you are using to display the ads , add a line like this - Call ***.***.*** and ask for Jemma , she will personally see to it that you get X% discount on the retail price.
Here's what you will need to impliment it -
  • Lots of creativity to generate names or buy a name list!

Additional Tips -
  • You must choose the names you use , depending on the target audience. The two factors involved in targetting this are -
1. The Gender to which you are targetting

2. The Place where you are targetting it.

The reason why you should keep the above two factors in mind is that people are more inclined to remember the opposite gender's name more than that of the same ***.

As regarding the names you must make sure that you have the demographics of your target audience ready. For example if your target audience is the ethenic minorities in USA then they will tend to remember the names that are common in their country of origin.

For example an Indian immigrant in USA is more like to remember Call Mala rather than Call Gracia.

But this naming convention may not work for you. Because , if you are in India and marketing here , then the name Mala may not work as good as Gracia ( Its all psychology that you will need to research and its sometimes technically called demographics )
  • Its very important that you give an incentive to your customers to ask for the name in the ad. If it is not a compelling reason they will ignore it.
Take it as a rule of thumb , no one wants to add that extra burden on his or her own head until there is a compelling reason to do it!
I would love to hear what you think about this method. Post your comment about this article here
