Concept Critique Needed: Free Customized Audio Host (Websites)

Concept Critique Needed: Free Customized Audio Host (Websites)

Hi Guys:

Need your thoughts on this one.......

I have a supplier of high grade pre-recorded customer services
technology. They offer that a complex matrix of customer information can
be provided to my customers such as you find with advanced corporate
phone systems.. only with even more features. There are the systems that
say:
For Specs, press one
For delivery details press two
To order press three
For customer service press four (etc.)

The system only costs me a song and sets up instantly.

My question is.... couldn't this technology be used to bridge the
interaction gap between online visitor and on phone prospect?

Example: Eric comes to website. On the second page he is introduced to
an attractive person in a "box". Caption says "Hi, I'm Deb. Your
specific needs are important to us! For a time saving customized tour of
our products, Dial 1.800.Hear Now 24 hours a day. The Color Coded hot
links you click will follow my presentation on topics of your choice.

Eric dials number and is welcomed by Deb. Then the abundant information
tree begins, 3 to five choices per action. (Action is the press of a
button on his phone) HE opts to click on the number for category "b":
Special offers.

When special offers loads..(on the phone) he is asked to click on the
corresponding orange circle for the online visual to accompany the audio
track.

>From that point on he has the visual message reinforced by audio, with

Debs icon at the top of the website pages. Any time during the
discussion he can press zero to connect to a her live operator.

What are your thoughts? What do you see as the barrier to this working,
if any?

Thanks!

~zion~

I'm not a marketing spe******t, but I can tell you that, personally, I would
not do it. I get way too angry at computerized telephone systems already that
I would never, ever, seek one out without extreme incentive. Dunno if that
helps... - Sue

I despise going through prompts on the phone, the least the better IMO.

The Web already takes care of all this except for the customer service part.

For customer service, customers expect a live human being to answer their
questions.
