Advertising a Gun Club

My name is Brian & I am the manager of a gun club located in Shawnee, Oklahoma. I am a fulltime college student & I have very limited funds to advertise my business. What do you suggest that I do? I am studying to be a graphic designer, so I do know how to make effective flyers and so forth. But I want to know what you all did to start advertising.

Thanks!

Re: Marketing gun club

You're just looking for local clients, right?

* Go to the county office where gun-related licenses are issued and see if you can buy their list. You can't get better targeted leads than that, so to speak. Send a postcard to every name you can get and direct them to your site.

* Have a contest and send a press release to the local media. Get in the habit of sending a press release every month --

- Top 10 tips for gun saftey,
- Why people shouldn't fire guns to celebrate New Year's Eve (et al),
- Teaching your children about gun safety,

Any idea that people want to know/should know that will get the editor to send a reporter to interview you.

* If you're a good writer, send in your own articles to any local paper, magazine or website.

* Make sure your website is great and optimized so it comes up on search engines when people search for guns + your town or county. It may be worth it to do a Pay-Per-Click (PPC) ad on Google or Overture.
