Investment Club

Ok, I have been kicking around this idea for a while now so I though I would run it by you guys and see what you think.

There has been a growing interest in investment clubs over the past few years. Most of these clubs just invest in the DOW and NASDAQ stocks. I would like to start an investment club to invest in small businesses and small start ups.

Does anyone think there would be enough interest in something like this to make it work? Any comments?

Thanks
Mark

Sure things. It depends however how would you guarantee the investments and what would you offer to the investors. You could try running some kind of HYIP but they are giving too high interest in return. I like your idea, but probably you'll need to go into more details.

Old concept

Investment clubs such as you describe, have been around for more years than I can remember, and I'm no longer young. There are MANY clubs formed for the purpose of buying into startups and into small businesses. Obviously it works, or the clubs wouldn't continue to appear. Some of these clubs are very informal, and started by a few people sitting around chatting about this and that. Others are more structured. You just have to decide on one or two specific investments that you have in mind, then start contacting your friends and associates to convince them to join in with you on a financial basis. Do your homework first, then move forward step by step.
