Are real business plans available?

I was wondering if it would be possible for me to find business plans that have been put to the test? Plans from real companies that have been successful, that I could try to learn something from. All I can find right now are sample plans and models for types of businesses. Thanks for any help.

I don't have a business plan to show you, but I do have a couple suggestions. These suggestions are based on several different bankers I've talked to. If you are writing a business plan in order to get a loan from a bank, ask the bank if they have a model or sample business plan they'd like you to follow. Some will! Second, get to know your banker. Several bankers have told me that they are more willing to lend money to those they get to know well.

There is probbaly one big thing that you might miss here. If you are looking for a Business plan that has worked and been successful then i personally believe you are looking in the wrong place.

If the business plan has worked, then just by following it is no gaurentee that you will be successful, there are many factors that can make or break a business and probbaly one of the main ones is being able to plan. If you are taking on a business plan and structure, that has worked for someone else you loose out on the biggest thing the other successful person has been banking on and that is their ability to make the plan work.

I have a business plan that is working for me, i could give it to you and you could use it to make a business 10 times more successful then mine, but you could also end up with an absolute disater if you dont know some of the background that may not be included in the plan, that i have just taken for granted.

I wish you good luck in getting your business plan together, the link by M&R looks to be very good i suggest you take a look, there are some Business plan tools (including sample plans) on the left hand menu.

Thumbs up Since You Asked Nicely

Here's a direct link to a successful plan that you are welcome to save off on your hard drive. It is a .pdf file. http://home.comcast.net/~ccsampler/d...planvideoa.htm

This plan was successful, however, it did not raise the money it sought as equity. The intellectual property was sold to the investing company (a big one!) and they are going to operate a division according to the tennets of the business plan.

I would also recommend that if you're looking for help to write your own plan, rather than try to discern the elements of someone else's plan that you go to this link
http://www.ebookmall.com/ebooks/show...ID=65878&DID=8
and by my ebook titled "How To Write Your Own Successful Business Plan" for only $20.

Hope this helps.

There are also some software programs designed to help you as well. Business plan pro is one that I have used. Its not bad, helps you remember everything to need to include. If you have access to a public university, their business library should also have tons of plans.
