Need help with message on business card

Hello

I'm getting new business cards designed and I would like some
responses to the sayings I want to put on my card.

On the backside of the card I was thinking of putting - Bookkeeping
is an ongoing process for the life of the business."
But I feel like it needs something with it, a question or something.
Otherwise it's like yeah, so?...or is it yeah, so?

On the front of the card I'm putting -
Bookkeepers are not boring people. We just get excited over boring
things.
Company name
My name
Telephone
Email
www address

Or should I switch the placement of the sayings? Which one do you
think is more eye catching?

Thanks
Gennif

Doesn't mean anything. What is the main benefit of your service from
the customer's persepective? Why should they hire you above anyone else?

Nobody cares about you. And I don't mean that in a mean way, it is just
true. Try to focus on what the customer needs and how they will benefit
from your service. Your business is a mini advertisement, make sure you
use it effectively.

I agree. A lot of the advertisements that pull me in begin with something
like, "GET _______"

With "_______" being whatever it is I want or need. Like 30% off of
something, or a freebie with a purchase, or even the feeling of security
is nice.

I like to GET things - and so does everybody else. So tell us what you'll
give us!

Hi Cliff

Yes I see what you mean. Could you help me out here?...I have trouble
putting myself in the customer's shoes. What do you see as the
benefits of a bookkeeper.

Skip the cute sayings. Bookkeepers are supposed to be detail
oriented and professional. Your card should look like the card
that you would get from an attorney. It should be clean,
uncluttered, and professional.

Well I can think of a couple. Its a pain in the ass and many business
people are not good at it. It is very necessary to know where the
business stands so you have to keep up on it, and people hate it.

The best way is to ask your clients the problems they had before you
came along, and if you are comfortable, the thing they like best about
your service.

I am out of ideas this late at night, and advertising copy is something
I get paid to do. If you'd like to discuss it, email me directly and we
can discuss it.

cute sayings aren't but a descriptive headline that spells out your
benefit to the clients, is an excellent idea.

Hello

Would you say that one of/or the biggest thing about bookkeeping is
that most business people don't know how to do it and it's way down on
their To-Do list or not even on the page.

What do you think of either of these

Do you enjoy doing your own bookkeeping?
Does anybody?...
Bookkeeping Solutions That Make Cents!

or

Where is bookkeeping ranked on your To-Do List?
Let us put you #1 on our List.

Thanks and I really appreciate all the help you've sent my way.

The idea is good, but it needs work. Be more direct and less clever.

Is there anything you do better than your competitors? Anything that
makes you different or special?

Terrible tagline, to be honest.

]

NOPE!.. not the purpose of the business card! It's not about the hiring
decision, but the CONTACT decision people!

SIMPLE HUMOR is ok but it's very typical - too typical in fact! Push the
envellope much further, and add a niche!

PARTIALLY CORRECT: Be customer focused, but=A0ironically sometimes this
means bringing the spotlight on yourself.. this dynamic should be
considered with a service! They DO care who she is if they have to talk
to her for 4 hours every month!

[Hi Cliff

putting myself in the customer's shoes. What do you see as the benefits

gennif ]

.............................

WOW... IF you don't know this, you are out of touch in your field, for
sure, Suscribe to an industry paper ASAP!

John, You're the man. But... I beg to disagree about making it look
like a clean ATTY card. That's strategically 30-40 years behind! Why?

1) It will lack particular benefit and will depend wholly on product
demand factors, otherwise known as production centered marketing. It
only works when the competition is sparse!

2) It will be totally lost in a crowd. Why would you call that one if
you have ten cards? Your chances are about 1/10 - not good!

Cliff, good stuff and I know you were sleepy... but the purpose of the
card is NOT TO SELL A SERVICE... my friend, It's to pre-sell a service
(heighten curiosity) and to sell a CONVERSATION!

Paul and Sara Edwards had this part right:
When you introduce your business card, the primary reason is to get
another persons business card and begin to qualify them as a prospect!
The secondary reason is to remind them of your voice! (Something you
said during intro!)

Also... BE a BIG FISH in a small pond on every day that ends in Y! That
means Niche Niche and Niche some more!
A few Sample Niches:

Bookeeping for Dummies.

Bean counting for Night People.

Paperwork Protection for Newbie Owners.

I Can't change your face... But I can make you look Great on paper!

Girls Night IN!

Those aren't my top picks , made them all up seven seconds but they
serve a purpose:
Niche Niche and Niche some more! C'mon guys you know this stuff! Being a
big fish for a small pond means BEING where your competitors are NOT
but niches ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Explanation of Niches:

Bookeeping for Scardy Cats (Or dummiez)
(BE a right hand person for people who fear math! -- be there!)

Bean counting for Night People.
(BE there for insomniacs.. especially if you are one also! Call it 411
Bookeeping - Open form 4-11pm Be there!)

Paperwork Protection for Newbie Owners.
(Avoid legal Snags - I'll handle setting up everything so that you do't
get on the bad side of Uncle! Be there!)

I Can't change your face... But I can make you look Great on paper!
(Getting people ready with great bookeeping systems that prepare them
for Business plan preentation! ($$$$$) Be there!

Girls Night IN!
(Book services to women- It's been proven they understand each other
better and they don't have to worry about being asked out on dates! Be
there!)

Now your afraid of missing markets with too narrow a niche? Simple!
Start with a niche and branch out into other niches to grow!
Niche 1
Niche 2&3
Niche 4,5,6,7!

7 Niches, seven managers.. growing and getting filthy stinkin rich!
lol...

One point they didnt make! (Edwards')...
You can gain a lot of visibiity by looking quite different than your
Competition.. Try a Lime colored or Fucia Card!!!!!

Stand Out from the Pack =3D Making a bonfire of your intentions! This is a=

must in todays add cluttered culture! Whisper and you get NADA!

Another point .. the most important.. Don't sell product(service)..
pre-sell it (make them curious about it) and SELL THE 1st PHONE
CONVERSATION!

Example:

Call me for a free list of new tax rules

Call to schedule a free Accessment: See what you may be loosing

Call to order free special report: How to do your own bookeeping: Then
use me for your quarterly review ONLY!

HUMANITY BOOKEEPING. We Talk Normal. Call and see!

Or you can go the other way: Show an
EXTREMELY SNOOTY WOMEN on your card (!)
The copy says:

"Complex. Persnickity. Cold as Ice. The most anal-retentive bookeepers
you ever did meet.
You'll LOVE to HATE ME -- (ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK$!)

Get the picture? Whatever you do..
NIche niche and niche some more! Then sell the conversation!

There will then be no mystery as to how to structure your card!

Sumary:
1- BIG fish SMALL pond: Niche
2- Sell the 1st Conversation, Not the service
3- Make a bonfire of your intentions (Stand out!)
4 - Let the card bring back emotions from your intro conversation
5- Make it prompt immediate Action if possible

If you need A prestige Card, To please "mom".. make a second set of
cards up in pristine white linen with emossed black ink and a gold
metallic serif Roman Style lettering and hand to your mom.. but DO NOT
mistake that for your Marketing Machinery! God.. NO!!!

Hope that helps... Have fun with it!

~zion
