How often do you sit down and revise your business plan? Every 5 years seems too long and every year seems too much.

We do an annual whats changed plan and we do a long term offsite plan once every three years.

Once a year we put together an objectives plan and targets. We review and modify them each quarter. We review our long range plan every 5 years.

We have a plan that is a MS Powerpoint presentation which we review at an offsite once per year. At that time we also present the budget and discuss targets for the upcoming year.

We do not have a set time that we complete the plan it is much less formal and we get together when we feel we need to the last time we did was after a transaction and we talked about how we should integrate and the impact on our company and how to bring the business forward.

I sit down and do it yearly. However, I look at it often and revise as the year goes on.
