Angry Venting some Anger

Hi Everybody, I have been reading a lot of posts, and they have been helpful and interesting, I have a particular twist, Alcohol, I recently started a company to manufacture a new alcoholic drink product, knowing there is a lot of things to consider when starting such a highly regulated business, I went out and hired an alcohol consultant to help in the process of licensing and meeting all requirements. After 7 months we finally received the first permit, and have submitted the second stage of the process, formulation, 2 month's ago, still in process, and still having 1 more step with the Feds to go, and then the state licensing. Before you can even start on the process, you have to have a building leased or owned, in the companies name, so here I am paying a rent payment for 9 months! Needless to say I'm in it for the long haul.
We have a great product, high profit, hardly any competition, just one similar product on the market, and a huge difference between the two products, wide open market, we have the equipment to manufacture our product, we have the "Clean" facilities in place, and we can't produce or sell until all licensing are obtained.
The way the government handles the licensing process, has caused a hardship to the company, but we "Will" get our licensing, but my fears have come true, and by the time we get the all clear, I won't have the cash for inventory, production, Ect.
We have decided to look for an investor, although I feel we should get the licensing process complete first before we approach potential investors, maybe a forum like this one will bring some interest our way, anybody interested and willing to sign a non-discloser agreement, Please feel free to contact me, I would love to hear any comments the forum might have. Thank You for allowing me to Vent some anger, and "Keep The Faith."

This doesnt sound like a very good situation you are in and sounds very similar to just about any regulated industry in the United States. The Casino Side sounds worse though after i just finished reading the book The Art of the Deal by Donald Trump. It sounds like just trying to get a Casino License could be a huge problem if you want to set up a Casino that it.

I wish you luck in getting your permits through, and hope that you can find an investor to help you out.

Wish I had some money. Always wanted to own(or partly) an alcoholic beverage company. I wish you luck in finding some kind of capital to keep your company afloat.

One q thought, why didnt you have your licenses before you bought your equipment and started paying rent?

Thanks for the comments, The requirements set by the feds and state is you must have a building and submit plans of said building, its not so much meeting the requirements, its the failure of the system to process on a timely basis, the process is strait forward, just getting them to do the process, what a waste, once we get through the process, we will be able to manufacture alcohol products, ours as well as other customers products, a good thing.

OneShot, I really hope you get the license soon. Wishing you all the luck, and hope you do well. Believe me, if I had any money, I would invest, but I don't, sorry. No good to you I know, but just a bit of support.

Thank You all for your support, as you can probably guess my original plan and time frame got shot to hell, but we keep pushing on, I see some movement, we should be in phase three of the licensing, the label approval, by week's end, next the state. I'm revising my business plan, the funding we will be seeking, will be for production materials, product stock, ect., ect. If I may Thank You all for reading and responding to my post, this forum has helped me, and I am looking forward to continue to post our accomplishments.

hey one shot,

If your company is incorporated, why not sell shares of your company?

There was this guy on tech tv's invent this a while back, who created this airplane rivet checker machine, and he sold shares of his company to raise money. Something like a min of $1,000 for 100 shares. He kept doing this and a few people that saw his biz plan hunkered down like 20K. Of course he hoofed it to ritzy hang outs like yacht clubs and stuff.

Anyhow, just a thought. I mean if your company is truly almost near phase 3 and you have product available, I am sure people would be willing to invest.

Personally I am interested but I wouldnt be able to hunker down that much, maybe $100 for 10 shares. =D

I was going to suggest the same thing tea_oracle did, sell corporate shares.

The regulations and some of the hoops they have us jump through to get our businesses rolling are sometimes just plain bizarre, trust me we went through them also

Here's to your courage, tenacity and down right faith in giving the world a good new product .... Good luck!!
