| U.S. Feb. ISM manufacturing index slips to 55.3% According to the Institute for Supply Management, Factory activity in the United States decelerated in February, touching the lowest level of the index since Sept. 2003. The ISM index fell to 55.3 percent in February from 56.4 percent in January. This was an unexpected decline. New orders fell to 55.8 in February from 56.5 in January. | In my business I am seeing so many imported items from Japan, China, Taiwan mostly. A decrease in factory output is not suprising to me, but it is alarming. These imports are nice if you are out buying, but I am concerned about jobs for Americans. I haven't seen this report before. |
