I have a small retail store that there are several people who feel the need to hang out... (all day even) and chat with staff & customers. They make the staff & customers uncomfortable. How do you deal with those people? Is there a way to not to hurt their feeling but tell them to get lost?

Phone the police? It's your private property - if you don't want them there and they don't respond to being asked to leave then have them ejected.

I would tell them they are hurting your business and you would appreciate them not loitering.

I would put up a no loitering sign and make sure they were aware of it and tell them in a friendly way and if that does not work call the police
