antivirus

I am currently using norton. I tried mccafe and just didn't like the way it works. I tried panda and it made my computer real slow.

I find Norton terribly intrusive. You have to have a password to un-install it. We made the mistake of ordering a ten pack corp version and had to hire a consultant to figure out how to renew it.

So far, I have gotten by with a well crafted hardware firewall in my router. To that end you might visit Steve Gibsons site at www.grc.com. He has some very clever free tools as well as great explanations for some of the security issues. "Shoot the Messinger" and "Shields up" are both useful.

I hate viruses, they made me install the window many times.
I currently use Norton Antivirus 2003 like Khasmoth. I don't like Panda, i sometimes use it because of System Mechanic.

I had Mcaffee....and got major virus problem....so much so that the infected computer had to be scrapped.
With replacement, we installed Norton....along with a spyware prog.
What a lot of people don't realise is that spyware can be equally as damaging as viruses!

As a former IT (Information Technology) person, now HAPPILY retired, I have to place my vote for Norton. Besides being solid software, I believe the do the very best job of getting new virus definitions out to their customers, bar none.

I've tried a bunch of them such as McAfee, Panda, Trend Micro and others but always come back to Norton. I tried System Suite but that was a total diasaster.

BTW, I have NEVER had a problem uninstalling Norton, and never needed a password.

Re: antivirus

We use Norton antivirus Corporate edition on 50+ PCs and a few servers. For more that 6 years we never had any problem with it, neither virus infections nor any problem with the installation/deinstallation. It has also very easy client installation and configuration directly from the server console.
