Another bad news - Next Google Toolbar may have autolink!

From my Blog -

And Google is planning to impliment this feature in its toolbar in the next version -

AutoLink can also link package tracking numbers to delivery status, VIN numbers (US) to vehicle history, and publication ISBN numbers to Amazon.com listings.
Your ideas and opinions please

I was reading another discussion about this and it appears that the autolink will not be automatic. Users will have to click a button to refresh the page with the autolinks. I think that wouldn't be so bad.

My only concern is whether google auto-link would overwrite my refferal id's, etc.

I would still be concerned about it, I really don't want people to mess around with my content to visit my competitors (or lose me ad revenue)

BTW It seems as if the person behind Microsoft SmartTags, Jeff Reynar, is behind this too! According to his personal home page, he is currently a Google project manager.

This also brings to mind another question - If Google is able to get away with it, will Microsoft and Yahoo follow?

Oh boy, isn?t it contradictory to the whole Google Philosophy of Do no evil?
