This time I will NOT give up!

Hi. I am so glad I found this forum. It's just what I need. This may be a long post, since I need to vent! I am a life-time entrepreneur (and I'm 52). I think my total time spent in traditional employment may come to about 10 years. But I've also struggled all my life. I've come to see that I had a pattern of coming up with GREAT ideas, being gung-ho during start up, then finding myself giving up at some point, for one reason or another.

THIS TIME I WILL NOT GIVE UP...Not no way...not no how...even though things look bleak at the moment!!!

Ok...here are the basics. Female, 52, live in Charlotte NC, 2 grown kids, no husband to deal with anymore. Started my most recent business 1 year ago. If you have ever heard of The Learning Annex, that's basically what my business is modeled after. Everyone I speak to agrees Charlotte is truly ripe for this business, and it should thrive. Well...it's not. Not yet. But I am GOING to be sure it does!

Am hoping you guys here can help in terms of keeping me going...offering support and advice. In return, I hope I can provide the same.

Thanks for being here!
Lynn

Thumbs up Re: This time I will NOT give up!

Lynn,

With that kind of determination you should succeed, but you also have to look where you may or may not be standing in your own way. I am not familiar with the business you are in, but then I have never been a service provider, I am a remarketer... always have been I am one of those people who have been accused of being able to sell ice cubes to eskimos. In either way after you make your presentation do you ask for the sale is about the only way to say it. Are you a closer, if not find one fast. A closer is what it sounds like you need, and if its a partner then they can bring a cash infusion or at least sweat equity. I know it is hard though I haven't been at it as long I have recovered from two open heart surgeries (and the resulting 300k in bills), and two divorces, so I understand how medical and marital issues can draw the wind from the sails, but if the sails won't get your ship moving break out the oars, and row. Momentum only works if you are moving.

Peace,
Michael
