Greetings from Wisconsin! (big intro!)

Hello everyone!

I found this forum through TheAdminZone.com (PulseToday's intro thread) and I'm looking forward to being part of an online community for marketers!

My company does about 320 websites for about 220 clients in manufacturing, healthcare, specialty retail, professional services, real estate, construction and a couple more in just about every other industry. Most clients are located in Wisconsin, though we have a dozen plus clients in about ten other states.

Being in the business affords us the opportunity to do a few sites of our own (though not to the extent we might like because we're generally busy doing client work):

We have a ten year old site at theBubbler.com; "bubbler" is a Wisconsin coloquilism for a drinking fountain. We added forums about two years ago and now have over 3,800 Members, with an average of 7 new members a day, and about 25,000 to 30,000 uniques a month.

TheBubbler provides Wisconsin news, weather, sports, entertainment, events, business and media links (over 8,000) with free Member profiles, FREE classied ads for Wisconsinites (nearly 1,000 right now), free add-a-link and more.

TheBubbler is a heavily hacked combination of phpNuke and phpBB.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We JUST put up Scouts.com as a resource for Scouts and Scouters Worldwide. I'm hiring a vB spe******t to skin and hack the forum because this is our first vB project and we're heavily committed to client work into summer.
Scouts.com is getting amazing traffic, averaging over 700 uniques a day despite just being a placeholder page for the last couple of years. We really have great plans for the site, which is part of what led me here.
We're adding features galore. A number of our staff are formerly Scouts (including an Eagle) and Den Leaders, an Assistant Scoutmaster and a Scoutmaster.
We welcome anyone interested in Scouts to come and join us now (we can use the Members - as everyone knows, getting the first Members signed up is the hardest part).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After Scouts, and about the time of publishing, we'll be upgrading and adding a board to WebForging.com.

I've just finished writing a 256 page book, WebForging, A Practical Guide to the Art of Forging Your Web Presence. At least I would be finished if I stopped tweaking it.

The new presence will include boards matching up with the 24 Chapters in the book, plus resources.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Besides that we run a few small group sites. We do some gratis work for Wisconsin's largest ***** literacy program, for our Chamber of Commerce, my Church and Lions Club, a school for special needs kids, a Healthcare PR & Marketing Society we belong to, and some others.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Finally, I'm a Member of somewhere north of 50 boards. My favorite (outside of our own) for the community camraderie is NamePros , a domain name buyer and seller community of over 16,000 Members.

I also visit Ryze.com, Tribe.net, meetup.com and a bunch of other about twice a month or better, and I read about 100 periodicals a month, about half in marketing and technology and half in my clients' industries.

Other than that, I'm married with six kids, like fishing and camping and travel when I'm not reading, writing and speaking and otherwise online.

Wow, just kind of spieled that off. Well, glad to be here. Hope to see you around the board.

Regards,
Keith
