EastCoast Media says HI! Hello there, My name is Jeff Ratthe, owner of EastCoast Media. We are situated in Nova Scotia, Canada and are an advertising company that is introducing a new advertising display called the Roto Media. It is a round-shaped trash receptacle that is backlit and rotates advertisement posters 360 degrees. Looking forward to talk to other people interested in advertising, Jeff

Welcome to the forum. I'm a fellow Canadian eh! Looks like you have an interesting product. I'm in Alberta(Edmonton). What kind of feedback have you gotten on your Roto Media products? It sounds interesting, and I would like to know more about it.

Thanks pacres. A majority of the companies I've talked to have been quite intrigue and interested by this new way to advertise. Of course a few of them say they don't want to advertise on a garbage can but when I tell them that this is more of an advertising display, then a trash can, they are more open to the idea. I am in discussion with 2 major companies in the maritimes and 1 national to have the Roto Media displays placed in their locations as a revenue sharing arrangement, which would put about 175 units out there. Because I am focusing on companies that have multi-locations and a target demographic, it makes it that more appealing to advertisers. Especially when you mention the stats regarding the fact that motion grabs the customers attention 25% more than a regular static display and there is no cost to the host companies.

Wow. Congrats on your success. It sounds very exciting. How did you come up with the idea to market on trash recepticals? I would think that alot of people would be somewhat discouraged by the fact that it's .. well Garbage. I took a look at your website as well. Are you planning on adding more info on the roto-media product. I (as an advertiser) would like to know pricing information, and see a few more pictures of the product.

I decided not to put pricing on the site because I want interested individuals to contact me so we can discuss what comes with the price. This way a person won't just see the price and think that it's too expensive. As soon as I can finalize a contract with a host company and have a set price list to advertise on the units, I will put it up on the site. As for more pictures, I am working on it. As for why the Roto Media...I actually looked at a few other advertising displays that are on the market and this one seem quite different. After talking with the manufacturer( who's canadian btw) and seeing the unit in action, I was convinced that there was a market for it. I did some research and found that malls and other locations that already have trash receptacles were open to the idea of having a trash can that would make them money. It's just a matter of time before you'll see these units everywhere!!! Thank you for your feedbacks, they are quite helpful. Jeff

From Canada Let me introduce myself as a leading Canadian Small Business Entrepreneur. I started my own business in 1980 at 18 and quickly grew a successful distribution network that spawned over 27 Countries. I was CEO of the Houser and Swire group and we strategically purchased Dataware from Newell-Rubbermaid in 1997. The high-tech business has been in trouble for the last few years and in 2001 I wrote a book on marketing and have sold over 1500 copies on line. I made a decision to jump into the world of Marketing and purchased www.marketing.ca I intend to make it an official marketing portal for Canadians. I see tremendous potential here on this site and hope to be able to spend more time here. I will be away most of this month and traveling but for anyone who wishes to contact me, I can be reached at 1 800 465 1005 toll free. This is the very best site I have seen on the subject of marketing in a long long time. Marketing subjects are difficult to address since it is a huge field. I enjoy and speacialize in logistical distribution marketing.... more on this later. All the best, Lorenzo
