Hi All ? this is Bill Hely from Brisbane, Australia.

I've been in one facet or another of the IT business for going on a couple of decades now. For about the last 16 years I have been self-employed as a consultant in general IT and office productivity issues, providing services primarily to SOHO and small/medium business.

For the last couple of years I have been edging away from the hands-on stuff and concentrating on offering analysis, advisory and report services, which in turn led to "technical" writing. The word is enclosed in quotes because what I specialize in is demystifying the technical and making it understandable to the average computers-are-only-a-tool business operator. So I guess it's really "non-technical writing"

My main online products are two tutorial books:

• A narrowly focused work on implementing encryption, called "Code Rings & Secret Handshakes: The Email Encryption Guide"; (Home Page )

• My 'bible' of computer and Internet security for the business operator, called "The Hacker?s Nightmare?". (Home Page ) NOTE: This book also contains the Email Encryption Guide.

I've travelled a fair bit ? South East Asia, Japan, Canada, USA, Mexico, Cuba ? but have been home for far too long now. I'm way overdue for another trip. Hope to get back to the USA early next year.

I try to make a bit of time each day to visit a select few forums, learn and contribute where I can.

But I better stop now before I turn this into another book!
