Marketers aren't excited about RSS!

wow,... did they miss the boat. I cant say I fully explored rss feeds yet but I do know that the sites rss feeds are permission based off of usergroups ... which is essential the mechanism they are looking for targeted advertisements!!

I mean right off the top of my head, I can think of something where if a user hasnt visited your site in x number of days, they get automatically added to a group on the back end and get sent a special promo in the rss feeds. Then theres catagories for that shopper that prefers this type of item or that ... and I'm half asleep.

I think it's more a factor of not understanding the technology than missing the boat. To unsavvy folks, RSS is a very mysterious thing.
