I have an ebay store, I have also registered a domain name which
forwards any traffic to my ebay store.

Would it be a good idea to set up a homepage using my free isp hosting
as a front to my shop where I can add some extra content and from there
a link to my ebay store? Would the extra content increase my ranking in
the search engines?

I didn't read it. I was asking who wrote it, as opposed to taking the
trouble to go and look. If it's by that Wayne guy, I have no idea how
he gets his stuff published. Anyone else, you may as well read it. I
have to say though that increasingly I'm reading articles on SEO that
are plain wrong.
I suppose I should stop writing them, really. Ho hum.
