Blogging for small businesses is it worth it?

Blogs take a lot of time and effort and even when you are on vacation you often have to blog or you may lose some following. Are they worth the effort? Have people had positive or negative experiences with them?

Eagle, it appears you have some experience. Do you have to write every day or can it be less frequent?

I think that newsletters are a better use of time. They are only slightly longer and you can post them in several site.

Blogs

I find that my blog has gotten me a lot of traffic and because you do not have to write a number of paragraphs like you would have to with a newsletter it is easier

I think the blog can be just about anything and it's not necessary to update it at exact date, day or time.
