Beginner's guide to web promotion.

Hey guys,

I thought this was a great thread at WebMasterWorld for helping beginners get started in web promotion. I wanted to pass it along:

That post is more about search engine optimization then web promotion. Also, the part about Meta tags is outdated. It should be changed to say they are irrelevant. But the rest seems to be still pretty much on track.

Some engines still use met tags. I think even yahoo still does.

Hmm... According to SEOBook Yahoo uses them just for description not for ranking purposes...

Anyway, Newsguy - Thanks for that link. It may not be an ultimate guide to everthing emarketing [Nothing is, in fact! ] but it is sure going to be helpful for those who are just starting out in eMarketing!!!

Yahoo does use them. That is correct. But they are so devalued they are essentially worthless. But, it should be noted, that it is always a good idea to put Meta Tags into every page. For what little value they have in SEO is worth it alone. But you never know who or what is out there that may find them handy that can benefit your site.
