Mailers

Have you had any luck with sending out mailers to small business owners for consulting work?

Re: Mailers

We had conducted an efficiency study at one Mexican restaraunt and we thought that it would be cost effective for us to offer it to other similar restaraunts. We ended up sending about 100 mailers out got about 3 calls and one engagement. It seemed to be a lot of work for one client and our response rate was not great though it is a typical response rate for direct mail.

Re: Mailers

Doesn anyone pay any attention to the mail any more? Well, unless it is a bill? Email is becoming the same - harder to get a message across. To me, it is all about developing your network/contacts.

I agree networking has not changed for thousands of years (maybe hundreds) and other marketing ideas may come and go but developing relationships is here to stay - mailers do not work for professional services - they may work for other types of jobs
