I am a novice at webdevelopment. Should I buy Frontpage or Dreamweaver it looks like Dreamweaver would be a more rich program but it also looks a lot more complicated.

Sites designed with Frontpage look terrible.

There's your answer!

Then again, it's design skill that'll make or break a site.

We were told some firms use MS Frontpage for easy editing and Dreamweaver for more complicated development.

We do exactly that we use each program for different reasons but Frontpage does have a lot of limitations

We use Frontpage for most of the development for complicated stuff we have our web developers complete it.

We use Dreamweaver, it is very flexible and the interface is similar to other programs we use ie. Fireworks I recommend you use this program if you are serious about an online business providing you have the time to learn it.

I would suggest you learn one program and learn it well and dreamweaver is the gold standard it may take you longer to get to know it but it will be worth your effort because it is much more flexible.

I had Frontpage on my system but I went out and got Dreamweaver and tried to use it - it was a big mistake I am not a techie and the system is very difficult to use. I tried using Frontpage and it is much easier and more intuitive I agree with the other comments it is not as ro**** but for what I use if for it does not need to be.

I agree Dreamweaver is much too difficult for the novice
