More money does not always equal better service. I think Site5 and ASmallOrange are fairly priced and provide obove exceptional service. Also, I've been with hosts costing 4x as these hosts costs and yet provide really crappy service.

Yeah, that's what I figured as well. This kind of makes it difficult to choose a good host.

What kind of requirements do you have? I may be able to give you some suggestions.

I certainly expect prompt response when I ask a question. Also I want to get a good answer, no guess, no speculation.

As for support, I have the best experience with A Small Orange (asmallorange.com) and Site5, and highly recommend them.

What exactly is your technical requirement?

I think you have to choose the right site for service provider for you.Look on other sites that discusses the most popular and most reliable hosting company in the net right now.
So I think big money spent will not always means good hosting service.
