More important versus less important

I thought it would be helpful to people like myself to know what are the more important things now to do to help improve your rankings versus what is less important or less important than it was a few years to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: More important versus less important

(1) The good contents in the web site was, is and will be the item number one
(2) A few links from other good web sites, but no link farms
(3) Good meta tags and less html errors in the web page

Re: More important versus less important

Age of the site still appears to be important with Google. Having a site that offers value to the user is the short answer to what is going to be more important. Everyday search engines are trying to find ways to determine what sites offer value, changing content, links to the site etc.

I think metatags are less important than before.

Re: More important versus less important

I think having the right keywords on your site and content is becoming more important and more difficult than it use to be.

Re: More important versus less important

I think the quality of the links to your site is more important now than it use to be - quality meaning high PR and content relevant to your site.
