What are the top 10 reasons to own a franchise? What are your thoughts?

My top three would be:

-Higher probability of success
-Quick start up
-Network of people to get ideas and have a discussion

I would say the most important thing about why you would buy a franchise (as long as it is a big one) is brand. That is something that takes a lot of money to develop and cultivate - something most small businesses do not have the time or money to do

The biggest reason and perhaps the only reason to own one is because they have a proven model that is successful otherwise you would do it on your own.

I think most of these items brought up point to the same thing - a strong potential for consistant cash flow - what most small businesses cannot offer

2. Brand
3. Proven operating model
4. Higher likelyhood of success
5. Get started quickly
6. Advertising power
7. Network of peers
8. Technology investments
9. Support from franchisor
10. Most you do not need experience
