You here a lot about all the good things about franchising - what are some of the things the franchisors don't want you to know?

First of all nice user name I think the biggest drawback that I hear is once you get the initial training you do not get much support and you pay a lot each month to keep the name. I will say it is different for the well branded franchises because you reap the benefit of a recognizable name.

I also think that that the restrictions that they put on you in terms of marketing limit your creativity though I know they are done for a reason for someone who already knows the type of business they are going to purchase the franchise may not be for you

I think it is dealing with a boss again. Because you have to follow their rules and still pay them it is like you have another boss all over again which is one reason why many people leave the corporate world.

Good point one of the reasons you start a franchise is to be your own boss and do what you want - cant do that in a franchise

There ability to cancel the contract they have after a certain amount of years or their perception of nonperformance - imagine building a business and then have it taken away from you.
