| Re: How much flexibility do you have It all depends on the frachisor typically they do not provide you with much flexibility. If it is a newer franchise you can usually have more flexibility. It also depends of the issue - for example site selection they probably would want to be very involved in versus advertising. |

| Re: How much flexibility do you have The best place to find the answer to that question is through current franchise owners and the UFOC

| Re: How much flexibility do you have A mistake a lot of franchise owners make is that they think they can do a better job than the franchisor and start to make changes immediately. While there are some factors like local preferences that may change the types of products or services you sell the basic operating model is what makes the franchise and I would suggest you follow it as they suggest for at least a year then try some small experiments on some new things. |

| Re: How much flexibility do you have It totally depends on the franchisor. My franchisor is very flexible. Very hands on for training and grand opening, but then they let you work it the way it works best for you and your area. They allow you to try different vendors and different marketing tactics and if it works well, they pass the info on to the other franchisees in case they want to try it. This is a smaller company with around 25 franchisees through out the U.S.. They are more like a mom & pop set up. I wouldn't think the bigger franhises would be so flexible. |
