There are not a lot of objective resources for starting a franchise so I thought I would try here. We have a client that has an interest in making their deli into a franchise and he asked me what the steps would be and how he would go about doing it. Can any of you help me with some thoughts and ideas - resources?

I would ask them to reconsider just because they are doing well with one shop it does not mean that it would be successful as a franchise and restaraunts have the lowest success rates.

If you use the google term franchise start up kits I think you will find a lot of resources I would just stay away from Franchise Broker resources because of the inherent conflict of interest. I looked a few years back and found some decent kits.

I think the best thing you can do is develop a business plan for your client to see whether or not it is a viable and financially worthwhile project
