Handing your site over for a short period of time

What if you had to go out on a LONG vacation and you wouldn't be able to admin your site/forum.

Would you make your Su-Moderator or some one else a Temp. Admin? Would you "prefer" doing that?

I have seen some sites fall down after taking such a step.

Please post your thoughts!

Thank you.

I had this problem recently but just had to hope for the best. Fortunately, everything went ok.

We did this as well and it worked out ok. What we did was to make some pretty detailed procedures before we left and that helped with the transition and also help improve our own processes because we had a chance to reexamine it.

Re: Handing your site over for a short period of time

We turned to a friend and paid her by the hour to watch our store for us. We were afraid of trusting someone we did not know well. It would be like giving the keys to the store to a stranger!

If you cannot find a friend to do it you should make sure whoever you get you have them sign a confidentiality agreement.

I agree I think it is best to find someone who is a friend and train them then finding someone that you really do not know that well. Having access to your files could compromise your business if they are in the hands of someone you do not trust.
