| Re: employing myself Yes, You would be the President of your corporation. You have options as to how your corporation pays you, and they (you) will be responsible for the all the income and Social Security withholding and reporting. The corporation will also be responsible for matching the withholding, so half your payroll taxes come from your personal pocket, with the other have company from the corporate pocket. It helps if your tax preparer works with the lawyer who does the incorporation, so things work smoothly. Note: Don't try to pay yourself too little. If there are reasonable profits going into the company, you should earn a reasonable income. Pay too little over several year and the gov't will come looking for more income taxes. Dennis Bevers |
