What are the laws for interships? If I have a student from a local high school who wants to come to my office to be a tagalong to learn about business operations, what do I do? Do I have to file papers with the Labor Department or do I just need to him to sign a contract that says he understands he is working for learning purposes only and may be paid little if any but not on a salary basis? How should I go about do this?
I would also like to intern in a printing house in my area. I know the owner and we are on very good terms and we have talked about me being her intern for a little while. Do I need to do anything court wise to keep myself out of hot water or should I leave that up to the employer/owner?
Thanks for the help.

PS - I learn so much from these forums. So thanks.

I'm in high school now and almost don't even want to go to college because I could get better advice from reading books, reading information online, ordering tax booklets and looking through those, and going through a few different interships without paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to listen to lectures.
