showing appreciation

just wondering if anyone sends out mailers to current or previous customers just thanking them for their business. To me this sounds like a great way to keep customers coming back.
I recieved a card of this sort for Sprint ( my cell phone provider ) and just made me wonder if any small businesses do this and if you have a success rate with it.

Re: showing appreciation

I guess if you had deep pockets and your per transaction costs were high I would consider it but an email is just as effective way to communicate with them and it could also be personalized

I agree it could get very expensive if your average sale is less than $25

Re: showing appreciation

There are less expensive ways to get the flyers out I am sure you have received a packet of them (almost the size of postcards) at one time or another in the mail. A franchise markets these flyers and you share the cost of the mailing with other businesses which is a more cost effective approach for a small business

We use send out cards for our home inventory business. The service lets you pick from over 8000 greeting cards, personalize it, even with pictures, and send a real card. The company prints it, stuffs it, puts a real stamp on it, and sends it out. The recipient will then receive a real card in the mail. They can even print it in your own handwriting that you set up when you set up your account. All of this for less then $1.00 per card. It's amazing.

I am actually an independent rep for Send Out Cards, so if anyone is interested in trying the system for free and no strings attached let me know.

Greeting cards will keep referrals coming in to your business and keep your current customers happy and returning.
