Use your existing goldmine.

You are sitting on a goldmine - your existing customers. Use them.
It is easily the quickest, surest and most certain way of growing your business at low cost.

  • Put your 'word of mouth' on steroids. Implement a systematic referral process.
  • Actively market your services to existing customers.
  • Develop back-end offerings.

I've used ServiceMagic to find contractors forr my own house, you might want to look at signing up there.

I would plan for any changes. Sounds like you've just taken over? Give things time to settle down, but in the meantime get things that were mentioned in this thread done... updated branding... etc.

I would also create a business plan that you can use daily to help you set priorities and keep you focused. The One Page Business Plan, you can get on Amazon. It's a business-marketing-monitoring system, I use with my clients.

Then have an unveiling, maybe open house for your clients (present and past).

One of the best ways to gain more business is to connect with your database of clients...

Web site is a good idea, too. But don't get carried away, since your business is mostly local.

An online newsletter that you send out monthly is a good way to keep in touch with former clients, current ones, and others who find your site or call your store.
