My family recently decided to try and open a 24hr tanning salon. It will be situated in a small town called Connersville, Indiana. Connersville is between Indianapolis, IN and Cincinnati, OH. The tanning businesses in the surrounding cities makes for great competition and the ability to set prices at such an amount to turn a huge profit. With commercially zoned property going at an all time low and new factories being built in the surrounding cities, population is on the rise and so is the ability for people to spend extra money. There is only 2 tanning salons in about a 60 mile radius. Both are operated inside of laundry mats. One has 2 tanning beds and the other has 8. Both locations open at 8am & close at 10pm. They can't handle the demand for people wanting to use the beds. My sister actually cant tan as often as she wants due to the demand for tanning beds and operational hours. We are wanting to open a salon containing between 4 and 8 beds. We are also wanting to put a vitamin, herb, and dietary supplement type sales area within the business and a nail technician or other type of health or beauty business. We have already established our employees, payscale, equipment, possible locations, etc. We are just looking for an investment of $50,000-$125,000.
