THAILAND - New Business Idea(s)

Hi everyone,

I moved out to Thailand to setup a new business which I did ? see Drew Aitch Small Business in the introductions section of the Forum.

As that venture is over and I am still in Thailand, I have been racking my brain over the last few months as to what I can do next. I believe this region is rich in opportunities but doing business in Thailand takes a little more caution than say back home in the UK.

Anyway, some of the ideas I?ve been thinking about are as follows:

Exporting Thai products abroad
Importing foreign products into Thailand
Setting up a Language School ? Thai or English.
Setting up an Employment Agency specifically for Teachers
Designing a Website to generate cash in either by
* Advertising Revenue
* Selling Goods and Services

And a few other thoughts here and there.

As far as exporting is concerned, it?s important to find interested buyers then source the products at attractive prices. I have seen a number of folk ship stuff back home only to find out they are the only person that actually likes the stuff, or that the same thing can be purchased much cheaper in China so the price they are looking for is of no interest to the buyer. In other words, they never did their homework.

Just when I think I?ve come up with a great idea I get Knock Backs as the Doom and Gloom Agents of Bangkok give me a thousand reasons why this or that is a bad idea.

Anyway, I?m whaffling a bit now so I?d like to ask the members of this forum to please throw some advice my way, if indeed you have any, on what I could possibly consider doing either alone or with an overseas/local partner?

I am now 43 years old and come from an IT Support background. To go home and pick up where I left off would be very difficult at my age and I don?t want to end up a middle aged Shelf Stacker at a supermarket. I love the idea of running a successful small business. I?m not looking to make a fortune, I?m happy to simply generate a nice little income so that me and my gal can enjoy a reasonable life style.

All ideas and or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Aitch
