Stop. Smell the roses!
This is the first thing I am writing in 2005

So I tought that I would make it something which can somehow, somewhere touch someone's life . I can say this because these thoughts did actually change my life completely at one period of time!
Live for the moment! Thomas Carlyle had once written -- Our main business is not to see what lies dimly at a distance, but what lies clearly at hand.
People debate that does this not mean that you should just start taking life as it comes and not plan for future or innovate? No!!! The philosophy behind the idea is that you should not get just too involved in future and forget the main task at hand which is actually responsible for bringing the future that you are planning for.
I am guilty of this Sin! And I've learnt this lesson and, though I am not sure if I don't sometimes repeat the mistakes I made earlier, but I absolutely make sure that I don't repeat this mistake, ever!
To repeat what Dale Carnegie wrote in his excellent book, How to Start Living and Stop Worrying -- By all means take thought for the tomorow, yes, careful thought and planning and preparation. But have no anxiety.
I would like to point you to an excellent poem that I always keep stickied on my work-desk and find myself reading again and again -
Quote:
Victory by Herbert Kauffman
You are the man who used to boast
That you'd achieve the uttermost
Some day.
You merely wished a show,
To demonstrate how much you know
And prove the distance you can go...
Another year we've just passed through.
What new ideas came to you?
How many big things did you do?
Time... left tweve fresh months in your care
How many of them did you share
With opportunity and dare
Again where you so often missed?
We do not find you on the list of Makers Good.
Explain the fact!
Ah no 'twas not the chance you lacked!
As usual - you failed to act!

Second point that I would like to make here is that please don't allow yourself to be upset by small things that you should despire and forget. I am consistently disturbed by how people make mountains out of molehills! Life is too short to be wasted in worrying about stupid things.
Whenever you are upset with a problem, you most certainly will be at one moment or other, think to yourself -- What is the worst that can happen in this situation? Prepare to accept it if you have to and then calmly proceed to improve on the worst. Most of the times you will realize that the problem is not as bad as you even thought of it earlier!
By the way, one excellent way of not getting worried at all is to keep yourself buzy, one way or the other. You'll never have the time to get worried.
On the closing note, I would like to repeat a line (I honestly don't remember who said these excellent words!) that I remind myself of everytime I start working on solving a problem -- For every problem under the sun, there is either a solution or there isn't. If there is, let's find it, otherwise, never mind it!
Good luck for the year ahead. May this year turn out to be one of the best and most profitable year yet!!!
