If you were to start your business over again what would you have done differently?

Take more time to develop our business plan and get things ready before I left the workforce

Re: Starting Over

Never have sold it. It is amazing how much confidence is lost with a first marriages end in divorce. I sold my business for exactly what my ex was taking from me in lump sum settlement of alimony, and my confidence wained so I gave my advice away to the man who purchased the business from me, 15 years ago he was making every three to four weeks what he paid for my business, and now there is nothing left of the business since I stopped giving him advice, and as I understand he died.

Re: Starting Over

I would of started on my own rather than a business partner - there are just too many complications in having a business partner

Re: Starting Over

I would be more focused rather than trying to do multiple things ok I would do one thing better than anybody - it is just so difficult as a small business owner. One person has said it is not about winning the race but what race to run in.

Re: Starting Over

We focused early on on a niche that had a target market that was difficult to reach so in the end we had to broaden our product appeal to a larger audience - we wasted a lot of time.

Re: Starting Over

I would make sure that I had two years of funding for my business before I expected to make a profit
