Everything that I have read has said that the search engines are looking for fresh content if they are trying to "duplicate" the value to a human if there is a site that is constantly changing its content it tells them two things 1. A person is taking the time to do it (given 90% of the sites are static) and two the content has to change for the users to keep coming back i.e. blogs
