| Re: Employee Manual "Reasonable cost" is, of course, subjective. There are a lot of software programs available that range from $29 to $99. I'm not a fan of the software versions simply because you need to also include your own policies and practices for the handbook to be truly valuable to you and your employees. If you only want one that lists current laws, just get the cheapest thing out there but make sure it's a version for your state and not just federal laws.
How things are worded in your employee handbook can make it very useful in keeping you out of court or, if done badly, give employees a reason to take you to court. When you're considering price, keep in mind that once you have a good handbook as a starting place you'll only need to tweak it in coming years to reflect changes in laws or your policies/practices.
