GOVERNMENT FUNDING
What kind of items are you looking to sell? Your question is very broad. But you need to be fully aware of the costs involved in such a venture. If you are talking about a brick and mortar location, your overhead expenses are going to be pretty high. You will have to pay for rent, utilities, payroll, advertising, fixtures, POS system, supplies, furniture, taxes, etc.

If you have a very small customer base you may not be able to meet expenses, much less turn a profit.

You need to research wholesalers to get an idea of the costs involved with inventory. To get info you will likely need a reseller ID #.

You should start working up a business plan to get a good feel for the startup and ongoing expenses. That will also force you to look at the marketability of such a business in your town.

I offer a start up kit below that includes a manual with step by step instructions so you can write your own business plan and a timeline manual (among many other items) to show you how to proceed with a start up.
