Here's an idea. I'm still working on getting my schedule formalized for myself. But you can write articles and than use your blog to write short follow-up posts about the article. You won't need to write as many words that were in your article, and you can give out more information to increase your expert status.

The benefit of writing articles is also that nice resource box at the end of the article. You can get it to link back to your site which will bring you additional hits, and you can promote anything you want in that box (except affiliate links)...you could promote your blog. For example "For more information on this subject, visit our blog at ***X.com"
