I totally agree that posting to various discussion boards is one of the best marketing tools for a web business. Most of the traffic to my new site is from the various forums I participate in. And that is key. Participation. Join in and offer relevant advice. If you can position yourself as an "expert" in your field you will grow your customer base.
Interestingly (I hope), as a business owner I started posting to forums and answering questions regarding small business startups and realized the tremendous need for that type of information. My newest business arose from my experiences on these boards.
So, although I originally started posting to help others, I now get to benefit from these postings by generating more traffic to my site. It's a classic win win. |
