Improving your operation

How often do you look at your operations and try to improve the quality and productivity? What type of analysis do you perform?

Re: Improving your operation

We have management reports which allow us to look at abberations in our operations and if we find one we address it immediately otherwise we make improvement goals during our annual planning process

Re: Improving your operation

We look at it every day but do not do a detailed analysis unless there is a big fluctuation from our estimates

Re: Improving your operation

We look for user feedback and then evaluate the cost/benefit of the improvements - sometimes do it and sometimes we do not.

We take a very similar approach when looking at our operational issues.

Re: Improving your operation

We time various activities and steps in the process and ask our selves if the steps are necessary - we try to eliminate as many as possible that do not add value

Re: Improving your operation

I review our operations with the management team on a monthly basis with certain reports generated by the different divisions. I believe this is key to keep up the productivity with the demand. Also, this assists with the morale and keeps the employees engaged as feeling as part owners and value-add.

Re: Improving your operation

We are mostly revenue focused on sales and then we look at turnaround time which is always a more difficult figure to look at because it is mostly dependent on the client.
