US Companies to purchase the NHL

TORONTO ? An investment firm and a sports advisory company reportedly made a joint proposal to buy all 30 NHL teams for as much as $3.5 billion.
Do you think if this were to happen to the NBA or MLB, this will help keep a cap on unrealistic salaries and perhaps lower ticket prices & broadcasting fee's (a major reason cable companies site for rate increases)?
