Adsense - Using Default Keywords?

Is Google Adsense showing ads based on default keywords? I have been observing that while, earlier, the new thread creation [i.e. Google Does not get the time to Fully Index and analyze the page] used to show either vBulletin ads or No Ads and Now they are showing ads for Branding and PR companies.

Anyone else noticing this?

Maybe Adsense tracks the keywords most often used in it's ads for a specific site and then uses them as the default for that site until it analyses the new page in full?

The fact this forum is about marketing would suggest that's why the ads are displaying market research, branding and PR company ads. No?

The ads on most of the new threads on my forum contain something about hosting, which my forum is about, so it's a possibility.

I think it might have to do with the word's closest to the Ad Space. Being that you can run 3 different on one page means potentially 3 different types of ads? Or maybe not.

Now that you mention it, I think I remember reading somewhere that it is down to the words closest to the ads.

Anyone have any idea why some ads dont show up at all? On my forums there are some pages where I've decided to include two different ad formats. 99% of the time the first ad displays but the second doesn't

That might be cos they don't have enough inventory for your keywords... Google also has a policy of Not repeating the ads on the same page!!!

Even if they don't want to repeat the same ads, how come they don't show PSA's instead? They should at least show something. It causes a large blank space when nothing is shown!
