MSN will have an impact but I doubt they will win complete market share.

I think, or would like to think, that the days of people falling aimlessly over all things MS are over. People can see there are alternatives out there. Look at the way Firefox is being taken up as an IE replacemtn. SUre I'll admit that the "average" user who simply buys the PC will probably never leave IE, it's there read to go.

I think though that everyone knows Google. People rarely say "I'll serch for that on the search engine" they say "I'll look for that on google".

Google works - mostly, I think Microsoft will have a battle. Google's "bad" product? Their desktop search thing. I doubt many will go for it then they learn the data of your hard drive is sent off to google.

Google will most likely move into web hosting next. In my opinion of course.
